Our Pups
The pups at Potcake Puppy Palace are young and vulnerable, often found in dire situations at an extremely young age. They wouldn’t survive in a typical shelter environment such as a humane society, so our amazing Claire Cash (Mama Claire), founder and puppy caregiver, and our dedicated volunteers in the Bahamas will often bottle feed and nurse our puppies back to health until they are healthy and old enough to be adopted. We make sure that each litter has frequent visits to the Bahamas Humane Society to visit the vet for routine checks and vaccines.
Our pups are raised with the litter in which they are found and have their own isolated area at the shelter to ensure a safe and healthy environment. They receive hands-on medical care at the shelter as well as lots of cuddles and love from many local volunteers. This is unique to other shelter or stray situations because these pups are given the opportunity to be raised with socialization and love which innately gives them a sweet and loving nature towards humans.
As soon as a litter is healthy and old enough, and we have the availability to transport them, we bring them to Canada and match them with fosters while they wait to find their forever home.
Meet some of our pups who are currently living with their foster families & are ready to be adopted.

Meet Luigi… your little shadow with the biggest heart!
Luigi is the kind of dog who bonds deeply with his person — the moment he trusts you, he’s right by your side, following you from room to room and soaking up all the love he can get
Here’s what makes this sweet boy so special:
Personality: Affectionate, gentle, and a little shy — but gaining confidence every day
Affection: Total cuddle bug who thrives on closeness and attention
Energy: Balanced — loves a good run in an open field but equally happy with chew toys at home
Home life: Comfortable in an apartment (even elevators!) and adaptable to different living spaces
Training: Potty training and crate training in progress
Ideal environment: Quiet, calm home where he can continue to build confidence. Would do best as the only dog and with older kids (12+).
Luigi would do best with someone who’s home often — he truly loves being near his person and will happily become your most loyal little companion.
He may start off a bit shy, but give him time and patience, and you’ll see his sweet, loving personality shine through in the most rewarding way
Luigi isn’t just looking for a home — he’s looking for his person. And when he finds them, it’s going to be something really special

Meet Scrump!
She was found in a place no dog should have to survive…and now she’s finally got a chance if we can find her a safe place to land.
Scrump came from a rough area of town, carrying more than just her story — she was in pain.
After seeing a neurologist, she’s been diagnosed with discospondylitis, an infection in her spine. It explains everything…the neck pain, the discomfort, the quiet way she’s been holding herself.
But here’s the part that matters most:
Now that we know what’s going on — she has a really great prognosis.
She just needs time…and the right place to heal.
A quiet home.
A soft bed.
A simple routine — just a pill twice a day.
Someone she can lean on.
Our rescue handles her follow-ups. You won’t be doing this alone.
We’re looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt in the Greater Toronto Area starting in May, with a minimum few-month commitment so her body can truly recover.
What you'll find in Scrump?
An incredibly sweet, gentle, and loving soul, just waiting to feel safe.
She’s done the hard part already.
Now she just needs someone to believe in her recovery.
Be her place to land.
Interested in adopting one of these pups?
If you can’t adopt, foster.
Without our trusted fosters, we have nowhere for our pups to go until they can be matched with their adopter, often forcing us to leave them behind even if they have the opportunity to leave The Bahamas.
